Laureate of Boris Polevoy Literary Award, Laureate of the Lenin Komsomol Prize, Honored Arts Worker of the Russian Federation, Laureate of the State Prize of Vassiliev Brothers of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, Laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation.
In 1975 graduated from the film directing department of VGIK (I. Talankin’s workshop).
Since 1976 has been directing films produced at Mosfilm Studios.
Since 1991 - Artistic Director of Courier Studio of Mosfilm Cinema Concern.
Since 1998 – General Director of Mosfilm Cinema Concern.
